The celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Annual Leadership Meeting from the EPS Young Minds project would have been hosted at ICFO on the 8th-9th of May 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the event had to be postponed. Nevertheless, ICONS managed to “bring together” the PhD students from ICFO with an online (Pub) Quiz on Friday the 8th of May.
Our (Pub) Quiz consisted of 32 questions divided in four categories, namely: 1) Barcelona and Catalan culture, 2) Science and Scientists, 3) Laser Facts, and 4) ICFO. A total of 32 participants divided into 5 teams joined the event. To host the event we used up to three different platforms, which might seem a bit tricky, but was the key to success. We hosted a general call in Zoom where we introduced the activity, then the teams were sent to Breakout rooms to be able to discuss the questions and were brought back to the main call at the end of each category. From each team, only one participant could submit their answer by using the Kahoot platform. To broadcast the questions, a Microsoft Teams channel was set up. We want to thank Mercè Latorre and Elena Enrique from the Events team at ICFO for their technical support to host the event.
After the event, we have received very positive comments and feedback by the participants. Although this online activity was a complete success, we are looking forward to see you all in person in our following activities.
