PhD Seminars

We are pleased to announce the revival of the PhD seminars. A new series started the past 14th of February in a different format. In accordance to our biweekly events, once a month two PhD students from different groups will give a 5-10 minutes flash talk about their projects. The aim of the PhD seminars is for the student community to get to know what the other groups are working on, to learn from their research areas and maybe find some common interests and potential collaborations. This events are also useful for community building, putting together members on different groups interacting, exchanging opinions and talking about science. The PhD seminars are followed by a Social Friday, where the conversation continues in a more informal way, enjoying the nice weather with a drink.

On the 24 of February we had the pleasure to learn from the work of two of our board members, Pilar Pujol from the Nonlinear Optical Phenomena group led by Prof. Dr. Luis Torner taling about Hyperbolic Metamaterials and Jana Ockova from the Molecular Nanophotonics group led by Prof. Dr. Niek van Hulst talking about Ultrafast single molecule spectroscopy of light-harvesting complexes.
