Yesterday 15th of April we had Seth Cousin in our ICONS Seminar, who gave a talk titled “Attosecond Lighthouse in the Water-Window”.
The abstract of his talk was:
Advances in ultra-fast physics have led to the generation of light pulses with durations in the attosecond regime (10-18s). Generation of these pulses present extreme technical challenges and have thus far only been generated at low photon energies. Through the combination of our unique laser system and a new technique called the attosecond lighthouse, we generate the first water-window photon energy isolated attosecond pulses.
